Pensacola teen crashes into new vehicles at car dealership, FHP says – Fox 10 News

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) – A teenage driver faces multiple charges after allegedly hitting five new vehicles parked at a car dealership then fleeing the scene.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in Escambia County. Authorities said a red Mazda sport utility vehicle was northbound on W Street when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, lost control, then hit a curb and a sign post. The vehicle continued onto the property of the Pensacola Honda at 6675 Pensacola Blvd., where it hit multiple lights poles and five new parked vehicles, authorities said.

The FHP said the driver of the Mazda ran away but was found by Escambia County sheriff’s deputies in a nearby neighborhood.

The FHP said driver, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to Baptist Hospital as a precaution and later booked into the Department of Juvenile Justice. He faces charges of careless driving, DUI, driving without a license and leaving the scene of a traffic crash.
