Former car dealer, gospel singer arrested for bad checks owes over $18 million to creditors – The Daily Reflector

A total of 83 creditors are seeking more than $18 million from a former Greenville car dealer and gospel singer arrested last month for floating bad checks, according to court documents in the bankruptcy case for his former business.

Public records from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Eastern North Carolina show that Tim Sutton, 63, former owner of Greenville Auto World, 3840 Charles Blvd., was issued an involuntary petition for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on June 23, 2023. The petitioners were Gary Harris, who is owed $1.9 million, R. Sutton Edmondson III, owed $562,500, and Michael Overton, owed $428,000.
