The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB will receive price rises of up to $5900 when it arrives in Australian showrooms this week.

The GLB – the larger, seven-seat sibling to the GLA – has received a facelift with a restyled front bumper, revised LED headlight and tail-light shapes, new alloy wheel designs, and a revised touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the deletion of the trackpad controller (not using touch control only).

All models are now fitted with mild-hybrid technology, which Mercedes-Benz says can provide a boost of up to 10kW under hard acceleration – or switch off the engine under low accelerator-pedal load to allow the car to ‘coast’.

Price rises range from $431 to $5900, depending on model grade – compared to increases of up to $5700 for the updated GLA introduced in recent weeks.

New features in the entry-level GLB200 include the AMG Line exterior pack, 19-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats with heating and memory, and metallic paint.

Meanwhile newly-standard features for the AMG GLB35 include a Burmester surround sound system, Driving Assistance Package (with more advanced lane-centring technology), and the AMG Night Package.

Powering the GLB200 is a 120kW/270Nm 1.3-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

The GLB250 uses a 165kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder with an eight-speed dual-clutch auto and all-wheel drive, while the AMG GLB35 extracts 225kW/400Nm from an upgraded version of the same engine and driveline combination.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB is available to order now.
