A manufacturing defect could result in the Range Rover Sport’s tail-lights gathering moisture and stopping working.

Jaguar Land Rover Australia has recalled 465 examples of its 2022 Range Rover Sport, due to a manufacturing fault which could cause the luxury SUV’s brake, reverse and rear indicator lights to stop working.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, the right-hand tailgate and body-mounted rear lamps may not be sealed sufficiently allowing moisture to enter the lamps.

“As a result, the reverse, brake/stop and indicator lamps may not illuminate as intended.

“Loss of reverse, brake/stop and indicator lamp system functionality could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

A full list of vehicle identification numbers for the 465 vehicles involved in the recall can be found here.

Jaguar Land Rover Australia has advised it will contact owners of affected vehicles in writing to schedule an appointment with their preferred Land Rover dealer to have the right-hand tailgate and body-mounted lamps replaced, free of charge.

For more information, owners can contact the Land Rover Customer Relationship Centre by calling 1800 625 642 or emailing [email protected].
